L’attività di Dementia Friendly Community ha messo in atto nel 2016 e all’inizio del 2017 numerose iniziative:
• Nel primo semestre dell’anno 2016 si è costituito il “gruppo-progetto” che ha visto la Federazione Alzheimer come promotore ed ha coinvolto oltre a Fondazione Golgi Cenci anche due Assessori e il Responsabile della biblioteca del Comune di Abbiategrasso, un referente del Distretto Sanitario e dell’ASP Golgi Redaelli-Istituto Golgi. Responsabile scientifico del progetto è il Prof. Marco Trabucchi. Dal 17 febbraio 2016 le riunioni del gruppo si sono tenute presso la Fondazione.
• La Fondazione Golgi Cenci (Dott. Daniele Zaccaria e Dott.ssa Roberta Vaccaro) ha contribuito alla formulazione del questionario per malati e parenti che sono stati selezionati e contattati.
• Il 6 e 20 luglio si è svolto l’incontro d’introduzione e spiegazione sulla demenza con la polizia locale (ripetuto a Novembre e a Dicembre 2016).
• Il 14 luglio vi è stato un incontro pubblico con conferenza stampa.
• Il 13 settembre presso la sala di Palazzo Reale a Milano si è svolto l’incontro “RICORDATI DI ME. Dalla Ricerca medico scientifica alle Comunità amiche delle persone con demenza” promosso dalla Federazione Alzheimer e il 17 settembre ad Abbiategrasso. A questi incontri hanno partecipato anche i rappresentanti di Alzheimer Europe e Alzheimer UK.
• Si sono poi attuate iniziative di formazione rivolte agli addetti della biblioteca e agli impiegati comunali. Con i responsabili della biblioteca è anche iniziato un programma di intervento sulla struttura, le attività e le persone per diventare “Dementia Friendly Library”.
• E’ stato implementato un momento di formazione e di organizzazione con i rappresentanti dell’Associazione dei Commercianti.
• E’ iniziata la collaborazione con ” l’Associazione Terza Eta’” che ha collaborato alla strutturazione di corsi di ginnastica dolce adattata per persone con demenza.
• Tre delegati del Consiglio di Istituto del Liceo “Bachelet” hanno prestato la loro collaborazione per diffondere il progetto “Dementia Friendly Community” nel plesso scolastico.
The group of Dementia Friendly Community has carried out in 2016 and in the beginning of 2017 a number of initiatives:

In the first half of the year was built the “group-project” that saw the Alzheimer’s Association as a promoter and involved two councilors and the head of the municipality of Abbiategrasso library, the health district, the ASP Redaelli- Golgi Golgi Institute, in addition to the foundation. The scientific head of the project is Prof. Trabucchi, who was present at the first constitutive meeting. Since February 17, 2016 meeting of the group took place at the Foundation.

The Foundation contributed to the formulation of the questionnaire for patients and relatives who were selected and contacted by members of the Foundation. An introductory meeting and explanation on dementia with local police was implemented on 6 and 20 July, and repeated in November and December.

On July 14 there was a public meeting and press conference on 13 September at the Palazzo Reale in Milan the hall meeting sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, September 17 at Abbiategrasso.
In the latter two also they participated representatives of Alzheimer Europe and Alzheimer’s UK. To record the highest participation in both initiatives.

They are then implemented training initiatives for those involved in the library and some municipal employees. With the heads of the library it is also inizito an intervention program on the structure, activities and people to become “dementia friendly library”.

The representatives of the association of traders were met twice as a moment of training and organization for future initiatives.

The cooperation with “the elderly association” has allowed the inclusion of people with dementia in the exercise classes.

The board of the high school “Bachelet Institute” has approved participation and has delegated three of them to monitor the implementation of the intervention in the school.Merchants formationlocal police formation
